We need your help to make a difference.
You can support us to do this by:
Do you want to make a difference?
Join our amazing team of family support volunteers and help local families experiencing stress, emotional or practical difficulties, ill health, disabilities, or those in need of parenting support. By using your own life experiences, you will engage with the entire family, empowering them to be the best they can be, making a real positive difference.
Once registered, you will be assigned a staff member from our team to guide you through our processes and procedures, ensuring you are ready to be introduced to a local family. You will remain in frequent contact with your staff member and be invited to attend relevant training as well as to meet regularly with other volunteers.
For an initial discussion about volunteering with us or to apply for a role, please contact Anna Cooke, Volunteer Coordinator.
I enjoy the whole experience. The training and meeting other volunteers and staff. I really get a great deal of personal satisfaction supporting families through difficult periods in their lives.
The contact with children and families and the opportunity to use my skills. I also really value meeting other volunteers at events.
Why not make a donation?
This is an opportunity for you or your business to contribute to the work we do for families. If time as a volunteer isn’t feasible, making a donation is another impactful way to support our work. Whatever you can afford, it all helps to create positive outcomes for children and their families in Cumbria.
The easiest way to donate is via our Just Giving page here.
Alternatively, if you would like to make a card or cash donation, please contact our Head Office on 01768 593102.
Your help in raising money for the families we support is always appreciated, no matter the time of year.
You might decide to have a collection at work, or you could be adventurous and host a sponsored event, like cycling from Lands’ End to John O’Groats, as Paul Cooper did for us in 2022!
Whatever you decide, you can rest assured that every donation goes directly towards helping families. We are deeply grateful for the support of the public and local businesses over the past 30+ years.
