Originally established in East Cumbria in 1993, Cumbria Family Support expanded to West Cumbria in 2018. Today, our family support services are available to families in Penrith, Carlisle, Workington, and surrounding areas.
Our family support is home-based. We take our support out into the community to ensure those living in isolated areas receive the support they need, helping families struggling with issues that impact family life.
We work with families at an early intervention stage when issues and needs are just emerging, helping them make and sustain positive changes. Even as family life improves, we offer support to keep things on track. Our support is not time-limited; we are committed to helping families for as long as they need us to prevent problems from reoccurring.
Cumbria Family Support collaborates with a wide range of statutory and voluntary sector organisations to ensure families who need home-based support can access it as quickly as possible.
Our services are recognised as an essential part of the pathway in supporting children and families at the “Early Help” stage. However, our dedicated team of staff and volunteers are trained to support families at all stages of need: Single Agency, Early Help, and Statutory Intervention.
